Photographer

Erik James Montgomery is a fine art photographer, educator, and artivist who focuses his lens on
the pressing cultural and social justice issues of our time. Initially self-taught, he went on to study
at the Academy of Art University and Columbia University. Erik grew up in East Orange, New
Jersey where he was first introduced to the power of the arts including illustration, dance, graffiti
and eventually photography. Through art exhibitions, photographic books, public photography
murals and various collaborations, Erik plans to impact the world one photograph at a time.
