Camden FireWorks is excited to collaborate with the William Way LGBT Community Center by hosting its 18th Annual Group Exhibition, “Queer Spaces: Domestic |  Communal ⎹  Imaginary,” from August 11 to September 20, 2024.

Queer Spaces presents the works of three talented artists: Moya Ferenchak, Peri Law, and Jamison Mead. Selected by Franco Andrés Rodriguez and Arleen Olshan from a pool of 42 artists featured in this year’s juried exhibition at Off the Wall Gallery, these artists offer unique perspectives on the spaces queer individuals occupy.

Artist Bios
Peri Law is a printmaker and teaching artist living in Philadelphia. Her art is focused on multiracial identity, Asian diaspora, domesticity, and multigenerational memory. She is a youth organizer in Philadelphia’s Asian American community and previously worked as a teaching artist in an elementary school in the Philadelphia School District. She is also on the board of The Soapbox Community Print Shop, a teaching artist at the Philadelphia Museum of Art, and recently finished post-graduate apprentice at the Fabric Workshop and Museum. She graduated with honors from the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill with a BFA in Studio Art and Art History. Her art has been exhibited throughout the United States, including Fleisher Art Memorial (Philadelphia, PA) Woskob Family Gallery (State College, PA), Charlotte Street Foundation (Kansas City, MO), Kent State University (Kent, OH), VAE Raleigh (Raleigh, NC), Levine Museum of the New South (Charlotte, NC), and is in the collection of the Library of Congress.

Moya Ferenchak is a disabled queer photographer currently residing in Philadelphia. Since they were a teenager, Moya has always had a love for photography. When they first moved to Philly in 2019, they struggled to find their direction in the art form. Once music events opened back up again after covid, Moya took a chance on combining their love for music and photography by bringing their camera to raves. It was like magic! Moya has been enthusiastically capturing the music scene ever since, consistently learning and growing from the process. In addition to photography, Moya also expresses themselves artistically through videography, music videos, botanical resin art, and DJing.

Jamison Mead is an artist living and working in Philadelphia. He graduated with a BFA in Painting and Drawing from Tyler School of Art and Architecture in 2018. He co-curated a group show, “Muscle Memory”, in 2017, and was involved in the creation of the one-time pop-up gallery Legume Room where he curated the closing exhibition, “Game Trail”, in 2018.

His work has been exhibited in Philadelphia at Temple Contemporary, Pilot Projects, and Information Space, among others. He works primarily in painting, drawing, and sculpture.
